Change destination warehouse for goods in transit order

Suggested by Niclas Dagland New  2 Comments

A current limitation in the goods in transit management solution using voyages and GIT orders is the lack of updating the final destination warehouse after the invoice has been posted.

The scenario this targets are for example FOB shipments from ASIA to EUROPE where the original intention is either to purchase the stock into a third party warehouse or a distribution hub, but due to change in stock availability/demand, the shipment in in mid-transit will be re-routed to a production site directly.

The alternative of using transfer orders to re-route will not work in scenarios when the shipment is pre-labelled with batch number & license plate.

What would this enhancement enable for the landed cost module?

-Greater visibility for material planning working with (for example) replenishing a production site

-Allow for receival of goods in the correct warehouse without adding virtual transfers on assumed dimensions

-Allow for updates towards integrated external systems (TMS, WMS)

-Allow for updates towards carrier services in regards to destination of the goods

What would this enhancement enable in general

-Stronger competitive capabilities in comparisons to other ERP systems with similar features supporting this scenario

Location and item based fifo picking

Suggested by Felix Franzbach New  0 Comments

In different projects we are facing the requirement to pick items based on the receipt date without using batch tracked items or license plate controlled locations. An example for this could look like this:

    Receipts:

Receipt of 5 pieces of item A on 11.03.2025 and put away to location 1

Receipt of 3 pieces of item A on 14.04.2025 and put away to location 1

Receipt of 10 pieces of item A on 05.04.2025 and put away to location 2

    On-hand:

    Location 1 8 pieces with "location-item aging date" 11.03.2025

    Location 2 10 pieces with "location-item aging date" 05.04.2025

The on-hand (item on a location) should always contain the date and timestamp from the oldest / first receipt.

In addition to this further location directive action strategies would be required, similar to the already exisiting fifo/lifo picking strategies.

Why are the current functionalites for aging date based picking not sufficient?

    Batch tracked items:

If a customer wants all of the inventory to be managed with this kind of receipt dates it would be required to have every single item batch tracked. This would lead to a high effort in every warehouse related process (batch confirmation, batch information registration during receiving etc.)

License plate tracking with aging dates:

This would require a single license plate for each item with a different receipt date and license plate tracking on every single location. Some of our customers are not tracking license plates on their picking locations at all.

    Location aging dates:

This would require a lot of physical space in the warehouse since every receipt would need to be put to an empty location to be able to track the aging date per item per location.

Recently we even had one project where the decision was made to use an external wms over D365 wms based on the functionality to have receipt dates per item per location.

Obviously this will not guarantee to have the correct inventory to be picked physically since this will always be decided by the warehouse worker, but it would still be feature that would give some flexibility when it comes to managing inventory based on receipt dates and create work for the locations with the oldest inventory.

Inventory Visibility – auto-expire soft reservation after configurable time period’

Suggested by Tom Kriplean New  2 Comments

    1. Time expired soft reservation
    2. Configuration form under IV setup for the length of expiration in hours/minutes/seconds
    3. Configurable form under IV setup for holding expire time on/off during D365 deployments
    4. Schedule where user could enter their deployment dates/times for year
    5. Automated if possible to monitor for current deployment and pause expiration from time deployment starts to deployment finishes

Stop control for mechanics in asset management work orders.

Suggested by Yenny Neriusky Figueira New  1 Comments

    Hello,

I have several clients who work with the asset maintenance module and need an option to be developed that allows technicians / mechanics to clock stops in the work order, for example: The mechanic is working with a work order but needs to do a stoppage for any reason and later continue working with the work order.

You need the system to record the downtime and when the work order is finished, the labor hours actually spent on the work order are automatically recorded. If it is not possible for them to be registered automatically, at least the line assigned with the real hours remains in the consumption journal and then a user can register them.

Provide list of effective purchase agreements when selecting a vendor in a planned purchase order

Suggested by Phebe Handekyn New  0 Comments

Currently, in the dropdown of the "Vendor" field in a planned purchase order, you have the possibility to see:

    • all vendors
    • vendors according to trade agreements
    • vendors according to external item descriptions
    • approved vendors

It would be very useful if we could also see for what vendors we currently have an effective purchase agreement for this item. Including some information about e.g. the unit price. Based on that, an easier decision could be made about what vendor to select for a certain planned purchase order.

Make "Product name" field filterable on item journal in work order

Suggested by George Huang New  1 Comments

We need to make "Product name" field filterable in item lookup form of the item journal in work order. In other inventory journals and orders when we lookup items we are able to filter by product name, but due to Microsoft design (The enterprise asset management has a separate item lookup form other than standard lookup used in other journals and orders. In this lookup , the product name is retrieved by a display method not a physical field in the data source) the field cannot be filtered.

This has limited customer's ability on filtering by product name, which is better than filtering by search name alone, as search name has limited length and it is used for other purpose (for example reference to legacy item number).

when running Planning optimization, firming planned production order using job scheduling doesn't explode the BOM and thus running material check can't find anything to show.

When using deprecated MRP, firming planned production order using job scheduling results automatic BOM explosion and thus running material check works as expected.

However, when running Planning optimization, firming planned production order using job scheduling doesn't explode the BOM and thus running material check can't find anything to show.

That update makes costumers cannot use material check as a part of make to order process.

Include inventory status on synchronization of intercompany orders

Suggested by Herre Schop New  1 Comments

Recenty it has been made possible to include the inventory status in the intercompany planning optimization. The problem now however is that the inventory status is not included in the update of the intercompany sales or intercompany purchase order. This means that we can do intercompany planning with an inventory status, but cannot automatically do transactions that keep the inventory status in mind.

In our use case the intercompamy buying party want to buy stock with a specific inventory status. However the status is not updated on the intercompany sales order from the intercompany purchase order (or vice versa). This means that the scenario is still not complete to use inventory status in intercompany transactions.
