In AX2012, there was a possibility to show released product inventory in stock unit, but also in purchase, sales or another unit. This has disappeared. Could it be possible to set it back?

This feature still exist in the product. The form is called InventOnhandItem and you can see it in On-hand details tab.

It still exists: in the on hand overview, click on the item id. There you can select the sales, purchase or other unit.
