Suggested by Ronny Heule Needs Votes

There should be a way to keep picked items reserved on location until they are manually packed and the container is being closed. Otherwise the items are physical available in D365fO which is not true, because they have a direct relation to a sales order.

Today: The items are picked to location PACK and lose reservation on location.

Thank you for your feedback. Currently this is not in our roadmap; however, we are tracking it and if we get more feedback and votes, we may consider it in the future.

  • This is big problem. Reservation once maid can by “lost” only when we:

    • finish picking, packing and sending – till this time portion of goods reserved to action (sale order, transfer order) is untouchable.
    • when missing goods and we cancel work (errors report), correct load Qty and cancel a reservation.
    • Changing goods Inventory status (needed replenishment or reporting as missing – see line up.)

This problem can have relation with error on “Early tote reuse”
(Warehouse management>Setup>Warehouse management parameters) to fast use unit to next picking work. When we once use a picking tot and post all SO, we cannot use it one more time, because he check first row for InventTrans for Location and LP’s number in which we picked last time, but there are two different numbers for Temporary tote ID. When we post it occur an error and we cannot post it.

  • Hi - unfortunately it is not possible to vote for this idea - so I add this comment, because in future release this should be done

  • Hi,
we really do have big problems with this because we are promising something to our customers that basically is already picked for different orders.
Can this please be considered soon?
  • Need this fixed ASAP
  • Agree with all the comments above; it is a major flaw in the reservation process. You have prohibited voting on this ... why?
Please expedite or at least explain the voting prohibition . thanks
  • Would be great if you could implement that requirement.
  • This is a serious issue.Items awaiting packing must retain a 'reservation/marking' to the sales order.
  • This issue is causing problems for our clients.  I see that it is 'under review' - please review with a priority and address positively!

The system needs to be able to reserve picked items to prevent inaccurate stock availability information to customers and order takers, which can result in poor customer service and failed order fulfilment.
  • Come on Microsoft, sort this one out, it affects the integrity of the solution, customers need to be able to trust the solution
  • We are experiencing this same issue and it is making it incredibly difficult for those who allocate our sales orders to see what is truly available.  We end up allocating the same inventory multiple times.
