It would be ideal that some electronic reporting output should not be editable example reports. Right now if i would like to email one of the ER output it will be an excel document. However any client facing document should not be editable. What i suggest is to introduce a new ER designer node example "PDFContainer" which can only have one file as child for example an excel file and during the ER processing that file will be converted to PDF the same process as in the excel application "File > Save as" and selecting the pdf format.

Sending legally binding invoices in Excel does not seem to be a very good business practice.
Calling the Macro in Excel to generate the PDF from Excel, seems like a small Microsoft effort to complete...
