Many customers on older AX versions are using this functionality and would miss it after an upgrade to D365.

This can be done but requires two more clicks, after clicking on "Browse" button on the attachment upload dialog, drag your file and drop it somewhere near the "Browse" button while Windows explorer form is open and then close or cancel Windows explorer dialog.
