Product Management personnel must remember to make the ‘purchase price’ (FOB)
changes and match the timing to the date the change should occur. This leaves room for
omission and errors and creates a loose end that can negatively impact operations and
financial accounting and reporting.
Request:
Make development change to D365F&O so that ‘purchase price’ (FOB) references the effective date -
just as the ‘sales price’ does. This would allow sales price and purchase price to be entered at the same time, both
referencing the same effective date. This would eliminate an issue we encountered that had a $4M impact on our cost of goods sold over a year period of time.
