The new real-time web interaction tracking in Customer Insights—Journeys is an important improvement. However, some key features are needed to maximize its potential and effectively use the collected data.
Proposed Enhancements:
- Traffic Visibility: Provide a dedicated area within Customer Insights—Journeys to view website traffic data, including page visits and clicks, independent of trigger activation. This will allow for a broader understanding of user behavior and website performance.
- Segmentation Capabilities: Enable the creation of segments based on website visits and clicks. This allows marketers to target specific user groups based on online behavior, leading to more personalized and effective campaigns.
- Lead Scoring Integration: Incorporate website visits and clicks into lead scoring models. Assign points based on specific pages visited, or links clicked, allowing for more accurate lead qualification and prioritization.
- Timeline Visibility: Display website visits and clicks on the Contact and Lead timelines. This provides a comprehensive view of user interactions, enriching the customer journey and enabling more informed decision-making.

I am really surprised this is not already a feature enabled. The ability to report on web interactions holistically and drive campaign activity based off actions is a very basic requirement that all other platforms have out the box.

This is so important and why is it not available??

Table stakes feature. Huge miss that this basic functionality isn't existing.

This would be a great addition. Tools like PostHog and Twilio Segment offer powerful JavaScript SDKs that make it easy to track key user events on site - such as watching a demo video, engaging with content, or visiting a pricing page. It would be fantastic to have similar client-side event tracking capabilities natively supported within Dynamics 365 CI-J - both to track, and identify (analytics.track() and analytics.identify()).

Our customers have also been asking for the ability to do lead scoring based on website visits / clicks.
