Document Reports - Quote, Order, Invoice, Credit Memo are missing a possibility to group Lines by Line Type.
They are instead printed in the same sequence as they were entered and there is no convenient way to change the sorting of the lines entered or group the lines based on a Line Type.

List of use cases

Group Resources, Items, G/L Accounts and Comment Lines

Group Items, related Item Charges and Comment Lines

Change Sorting to first print All Resources, and then print All Items and then Comments.

Possibility to have a custom sort and grouping of the posted invoice so that its easy to explain the different lines to a customer.

For example - based on Item Category

All Electrical Parts Grouped together
All Wooden Parts Grouped together
All Mechanical Parts Grouped together

Such grouping or sorting options are required in the Documents or Invoices presented to the customers to make them easily understandable and to be competitive in the market with other solutions which offer easy to customize fancy print outs without any code changes.

Consolidation of the lines would also be good. E.g. you only want the customer to see a singe line item, but you need the line to be split to two different dimensions so enter two lines. This would be GL only, not inventory items.
