Giving this a boost as well as it would be a great way to set a default filter to counterbalance the possible activity overload on a contact's/lead's timeline.

Excellent idea! I'm surprised this is not available and that there are so few votes...For clarity, this is about filters and sub-filters that can be set by the user for marketing interactions.
