I think it would be great if MSM could add a new module in Microsoft Sustainability Manager for our company to calculate and report "temperature rating score."

As a finance service company, our commitment to aligning with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) goals and standards is unwavering. We understand the importance of transparent, science-based protocols for assessing our greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets.

The "Temperature scoring," authored by CDP Worldwide and WWF International, provides a comprehensive methodology for converting corporate GHG emission reduction targets into temperature ratings. This open-source protocol is built on the SBTi's work and allows for assessing the ambition of corporations and investment portfolios based on their targets.

Our company's main contributions are generated from scope 3 category 15 (Loan and Investment), and we find it challenging to gather data from our value chain. The temperature rating method offers a straightforward approach to setting goals and demonstrating our commitment to a sustainable future. It also provides a clear starting point for aligning our portfolio with long-term temperature goals, such as the 1.5°C target set by the Paris Agreement.

Integrating this temperature rating module into the Microsoft Sustainability Manager will bring significant benefits to our company and other financial institutions with similar sustainability objectives.

It would enhance our ability to report in a manner consistent with SBTi standards and facilitate the more effective management of our sustainability data.
