In Business Central web client, pressing Ctrl+C often copies the entire row instead of the value of the selected field.

This is especially problematic for lookup and clickable fields (e.g. “Purchase Order No. for Special Order”), where:

• It is difficult or impossible to select only the value
• F2 does not work
• The UI prioritizes navigation over selection
• Users are forced to use mouse + ALT hacks or external tools like Excel

This behavior is inconsistent with standard UX in Excel and most modern applications.

Expected behavior

• Ability to copy the value of the current cell using a simple keyboard shortcut
• Consistent behavior across all field types (including lookup fields)
• Optional: introduce a dedicated “Copy Cell” shortcut (like Ctrl+Shift+C)

• Creates unnecessary frustration for frequent users
