Just for reference. I'm an independent consultant and have worked with BC/NAV for 23 years.

Clients often ask to set up customers and vendors as dimensions. Obviously we try to explore whether they can use the Sales Analysis Reports/Purchase Analysis Reports etc. but sometimes they want G/L Data, but by customer and vendor. I know we can use the Source No. already available in G/L Entries, but this requires an external reporting tool. We therefore sometimes need to create a modification to automate the simultaneous creation of a Customer Dimension value when creating the Customer etc.

I'm aware that this would mean either a) Including the function to Create Customers and Vendors as Dimensions or b) Adding Source No. and Source Type to the Flow fields on the G/L and allowing analysis views / reports to include Customers and Dimensions as rows or columns.
