Speaking in technical terms, the possibility to delete a purchase line after that line is referenced on an item arrival journal line creates a database inconsistency, because the journal line refers to a LOTID that does not exist anymore.
More importantly, speaking in business process terms, the possibility to delete a purchase line after it has been referenced on an item arrival journal line is a source of continuous exceptions in the flow of goods entering the warehouse.
You must think that the goods are received by warehouse operators who are not authorized to verify/modify purchase orders (but same problem for production orders) and these exceptions lead to blockages and slowdowns in the flow of goods and then in the expedition of the goods to final customers. For a distribution company that receives and ships the goods, this is not admitted.
So for these reasons, delayed reporting of deleting a row is a patch on the problem and it is absolutely not an acceptable solution in a business process.
The expectation is that this journal should be posted successfully.
