Requesting for further enhancements to the BOM Cost Shares report in Business Central to ensure the Unit Cost used within the BOM Cost Shares report accurately matches the Standard Cost for an item out to 5 currency decimals if it is a purchased item . I have come across an issue where the Unit Cost shown in the BOM Cost Shares report and the Standard Cost on the item card does not match, which is impacting costing validations and audit requirements. So far our only option is to develop custom reports to resolve the issue, which seems redundant when an out of box report exists already.

 

The product team has explained that the Unit Cost in the BOM Cost Shares report is dynamically calculated and may differ due to rounding precision, calculation date, and inclusion of additional cost elements and that minor variances are expected by design, but this is occurring on a purchased components with no BOMs or Routings assigned.
