Using Interaction Templates, it's possible to auto-create interactions for purchase, sales and service documents. This allows account / category managers to see the trading history in a single place, which is great. Sales Headers inherit header contact person from Sell-To Customer, but auto-created interactions are always stamped with Bill-To company contact.


The problem with this is where Bill-To company is a faceless group office, while the commercial relationship is really with the subsidiary Sell-To companies. In this instance, you would want to be able to view interactions by Sell-To, rather than the Bill-To list containing data for multiple group companies.


My suggestion if that Interaction Log Entries should have contact company and person fields for both Bill-To and Sell-To company and person. These should be inherited from Sales / Service documents upon posting. The same should be true of purchase documents for Pay-To and Buy-from company and person contacts.


The benefit of this suggestion having both would be that account / category management can be successfully performed with Bill-To / Pay-To structures where the commercial relationship being monitored is really with the Sell-To Customer or Buy-from Vendor.
