We have typically used No.2 field as the legacy account number from the customer's prior ERP/accounting system. If we could have the field added to the list and card page but not set to visible. Then a user can personalize their screen if needed to add that field.

There a multiple Ideas in order to have standard fields visible, in separate pages. Though I think that this specific need is easier to implement, as this is related to a certain set of pages (2 pages).
