Intro
As far as I know the only way to build up Power BI reporting that can handle the multicompany structure in BC is by using the Dynamics 365 Business Central connector and then do some trickery to get the company info into the records. This is a cumbersome and time-consuming approach – but it works. Furthermore this solution does not work when customers want to use the XML Gateway.
The idea
Make a query/page option or an option on the webservice setup page named expose all companies. When this is select the webservice exposes data from all company (like if the table was global) and adds a column where the company name is posted pr record.
Then it would work through the gateway and adding multicompany reporting would be so much easier in general.
The possibility to do cross company reporting in Power BI in an easy way would be a killer feature.
