While export to Excel is a current workaround this does cause time delay and the need to leave Business Central. This idea would give users a better Business Central experience as it would allow them to stay within BC and reduce unnecessary steps to summarize or pivot data in Excel, which is especially frustrating when nothing else needs to be done with the data. I just want to be able to quickly know the sum of a given field/etc.


Two parts to this Idea:


1) In any list or similar grid layout (e.g. journal) there should be an option to perform a calculation on a numeric column/field and show that value in BC on-screen without the need to export to Excel


2) Ability to group by one or more columns and have the desired calculation performed as a subtotal.


Both parts to this idea are base functionality in D365 Finance (F&O) or can be customized as needed for grids that don't have this functionality turned on OTTB.
