In our old Navision installation where we had access to our own SQL, we had an automated copy job running nightly on our SQL DB to restore our production database into a non-prod environment, which was extermemly handy for support when attempting to reproduce production incidents. This meant we typically had the problem data and a production replica where we could copy business processes to reproduce issues without impacting the live database, and would be running with exact same code base.
This is something our support team misses with the (MS Hosted) SaaS BC installation we're running now.
Although copies from Production are possible and can be done on an adhoc basis, the advice from MS is to not run them during business hours, so we imediately lose a day whenever this is needed for support / production issue replication.
The suggestion would be a mechanism in the admin centre to schedule database copies, so we would be able to set this up to run nightly out of business hours, so every day we'd have a fresh copy of production we could use to replicate prod issues occurring on live - it can also be handy for adhoc training of staff, which can be done on near to live data without having to manually complete DB copies out of hours to Sandbox.
