It should be possible to pause/postpone updates for a number of days/weeks … like, "please don't touch my system 2 weeks before Christmas / Black Friday" …

Or give the customer the information that an update is available and ask to install it … and remind frequently …
somehow like office or windows updates

Thanks for the feedback. We're continuing to work on improving our update processes and schedules for Business Central SaaS. Current options include the ability to select the time of day that all updates are allowed to be rolled out to your Business Central tenant. For the semi-annual major releases, you also have the option to select a specific date for the update to occur, within a given date range (note that this option is not yet available for monthly minor releases). You can find more information on these options on our documentation site here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/dev-itpro/administration/tenant-admin-center-environments#updating-environments

For the option to postpone an update, this is a component of update improvements that is under consideration. We'll continue to gather feedback and votes on the idea to potentially be included in a future release.

Thank you!

The Business Central Team
