A lot of times the business requirement is to only have emails in CRM that users track manually. Therefore there should be an option to fully prevent automatic tracking of emails, while using the Lightweight App for Outlook.
This should be set globally for one CRM organisation, via System Settings or OrgSetting.
Using the Outlook Client is not an option, as this has caused too many problems in the past.

Thanks for the feedback. It is possible to configure users to not automatically track any emails. This can be enabled using some different settings documented here:

Default OrgDBOrgSettings for server-side synchronization - Power Platform | Microsoft Docs

SSSForceFilteringMethodForUserMailboxes

HideEmailAutoTrackOptions

You can use one or both of the options mentioned above. There is also another setting named HideTrackAllOption.

This can be done by disabling correlation or setting to None in User's personal options and then disabling the ability for users to change their track options. Oh please why is this not standard yet?! #1 complaint about the application I receive. Most organizations want to limit emails tracked and want to let users make those decisions.

Totally agree!

Absolutely necessary, there should be more controls moved to the mailbox instead of making them global settings. D365 is a stack, not everyone has the same business purpose, but the App for outlook provides ease of use to users who are in their inbox predominantly.

I can't think of the reason why this features did not make it yet! It should be a standard feature one would think.
