When sending documents (purchase order confirmation for example) via email, there is no log of what was actually sent to the vendor or just print to screen. When working as a team, this is required to keep track of the last information sent to the vendor and the destination emails. In reality, the purchase order is sometimes confirmed without the need to send back to the vendor. The posting history or confirmation journals does not differentiate the destination.
