We are working with a retailer that requires a paper bag be issued with each sale. The bag is inventoried and has a Sales Price that contributes to the subtotal of the cart.

Without having to implement a custom return policy, it would be beneficial to be able to mark an item as excluded from returns. If the item is inventoried and contributes to the order total, having this feature to handle items that cannot be physically returned once purchased such as bags or other goods would help prevent the need for a custom return policy.

Example: Order #1 - sell item A and it's $10.00, the item is placed in a bag that cost $0.10 which is passed to the customer. Subtotal of order #1 = $10.10

Days later, order #1 is returned by said customer. The bag is not part of that return so the return subtotal is only $10.00. The only item with an inventory transaction is item A.

Thank you for the product suggestion! This idea is aligned with the product vision and we will love to provide this capability out of the box. However, we do not have a planned release timeline as of now and hence marking it as Declined (please read this as Postponed).

Please note that this functionality can be achieved in POS using the info codes.

Fairly common scenario and would add great value to the solution avoiding many extensions

A much-needed one. We need a flag to mark a product or category as non-returnable for retail transactions.
