Dynamics 365 for finance and operations already offers a number of ABC classifications (revenue, inventory value etc.), but there's no option to ABC classify products according to product velocity. The product velocity is a precondition to optimize locations (slotting) of products in the warehouse and generally interesting in warehouse reporting.

High velocity products A will typically be located on best picking locations, whereas B and C products will be located at less attractive pick locations.

Optimally it should be possible to setup (per product) whether the product velocity should be calculated based on order lines, shipment lines, work lines or handling units (pallets, cases etc.).

Thank you for your feedback. This is a great suggestion! We will consider this in our roadmap.

The proposal will close a gap and give all WMS installations an obvious method to organize the warehouse.

This is urgently needed for our warehouses.

This is a requirement on many projects. When implementing this, please also make it possible to create movement work for inventory that changed classification while in storage. For example an item that used to be A (high velocity) can be C (low velocity) after some time. Such items must be moved from the scarce A locations to the plentiful C locations in 'the back' of the warehouse.

This functionality would be very helpful. Any idea when this will be developed?

It is very helpfull for managing the warehouse. In some sources it is caled XYZ - to seperate from financial and not to mixed this two (often separate) areas.

Yes. We need ABC classification.  If we aren't using it, then we aren't providing our customers with a solid enough business case to use it.  We need both. (Functionality and consultants who know how to use it.)

Everything to optimize the warehouse is welcome
