After a SEO assessment, we identified several optimizations that should be considered for Dynamics 365 Commerce as an e-commerce platform. The top three that we deem should be taken into consideration for further implementation are:

  1. Categories (PLP) and product (PDP) page URLs should not be generated using the rackID but leveraging a dedicated attribute to enable friendlier and optimized URLs
  2. Apart from the URL slug attribute of the previous point, there should be at least other two, namely page title and meta description (should be possible to override an autogenerated rule)
  3. Inclusion of the content-language attribute and hreflang attribute in case of multi-language storefronts

This is in our backlog, but is not yet committed to an upcoming wave.  It is a topic we want to improve and have heard loud and clear from customers.  It is a matter of backlog prioritization and timelines currently.

This would be amazing to have out of the box. I ended up doing some very ugly code hacking to remove the bad URL elements for our site's SEO. Handling this as you suggested would greatly increase the value of this product!

I came here looking for this exact thing ^

We have two locales, and have added a URL that matches each of the two languages. This, however, creates four total URLs, two of which have duplicate information.

Are all three features being worked on? I was looking for support for #3 (hreflang attribute) and wanted to double-check that it is part of the roadmap. Thanks!

@Administrator apart from the product part, are you also considering Sitebuilder URL localization? In a site with two locales we noticed that when creating a new language variant of a page the URL is shared from the two pages and can't be differentiated between the two. Is this planned in the upcoming releases?
