There are cases when it makes sense to post the packing slip from the sales order, for instance when the order contains service items. Would be good if we get a function to cancel the packing slip from a sales order which contains warehouse management controlled items.

I agree, we have a very large volume of orders posted automatically (batch job) and we are unable to cancel the delivery note.

I agree. packing slip cancelation should be available on the sales order as well, even if the order contains advanced warehouse items.

I agree,
Sometimes we create a packing slip with together activated wms and non activated wms products.
And aour packing slip have to include both item type.
to do this we post packing slip from sales order.
but we cannot cancel it.
