Current D365 job scheduling allows the Scheduling team to schedule jobs backward for a delivery date to prevent them from extending the scheduled production jobs into the follow date. This is a means of preventing Jobs that have processes which must be completed in a singular day (possibly due to chemical processes, daily cleaning of equipment, etc). I would like to see a parameter toggle on the Route - preferably Operational level - that limits the scheduling of the job based on a specified calendar interval.

  • Calendar interval specified by # of days
  • Interval would check calendar assigned to specific resource (potentially the resource group if not assigned to resource?)

This would prevent a planner from having to perform multiple scheduling runs, locking a jobs schedule, and re-running job scheduling in repetition.

I do not see a way to attach screen shots to these requests... so here is a link to a generic Learn.Micrsoft page with a Gantt chart (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/production-control/media/resview.png)

The ability to specify days should be able to prevent scheduling of Operation 30 "Packing" process over the daily interval period, Limiting the operation to either the 18th or the 19th entirely. For operations that would require more than a days time based on the resource calendar assignment/Production job qty, I would expect an error message detailing resource does not have the calendar capacity.

Currently this is not in our roadmap; however, we are tracking it and if we get more feedback and votes, we may consider it in the future.
