It is already possible to create a purchase return order & purchase order for when the item must be returned to the vendor (for repair or replacement), and a sales order to resend the item (after repair) to the customer, but what if you want to repair it yourself?

Then you need to manually create a service order, which is then not linked to the sales return order.
