The Retail solution includes In update 7.3 new product lifecycle management functionality has been released. This functionality allows you to create product lifecycle states and assign logic to each state. There is logic available to have this state impact master planning, find obsolete products and assign new product states and allow for default product lifecycle state values during migration and import.
The retail functionality has known it's own product lifecycle settings for a while, on the retail fasttab on the released product detail in Product Information Management. This functionality allows for limited seasonality functionality and validity dates.
It would be great if the retail product team could come to a state where the retail functionality compliments the newly released product lifecycle functionality. There is good opportunity to allow for seriously strong and flexible product lifecycle management functionality working seamlessly integrated between backoffice and retail.

Great idea. Combining the two would improve the PLC and also reduces the maintenance of the items.
