The trail environment is too restricted to be of any value. Many people do not have a finance 365 license and do not wish to contact Microsoft for a demo license. Many people simply want to work through the software to see what it is capable of doing.
You guys made Microsoft learning free which is a very good move, go through the Finance 365 Associate Certification and at the very least make sure that they can work through it using the trail environment and not the demo environment because its too hard to get access to a demo environment if your account is not linked to a customer with a finance 365 license or partner.
This will make it easier to learn the software and work with it.
With that said the trail environment gives the user an impression of limited functionality because a lot of it you cannot even see using the trail environment (the options are not their because of the security settings).
