D365 purchase orders assume FOB destination which is not the case in most situations. Ownership often changes when the vendor either ship the goods or deliver them at a port's dock etc. It would be very useful to be able to receive goods in transit (similar to a transfer order) which would post an accrual and then receive them again in the final warehouse using the normal process including advanced warehousing. The in transit process should be triggered by the delivery terms or even better INCO terms.
Comments
My company uses a lot of batch tracking and serial tracking items hence the fact that our users has to do one quantity per time for only one line with multiple quantity is definitely time wasting. Then, we cannot track the serial number or batch number in our transit location and if users made a mistake we have to use transfer journal to fix them before the stock is reserved against sales order, which double up the workload.

If the normal advanced warehouse PO receive could be used for GIT then defaul data could be used and serial tracking would work. Current GIT receive does not use default data (disposition code) and serial track items must be received one per transaction vs. mutiple serial numbers per transaction. This is very inefficient.

this comes up with almost every client of ours. Would be nice to have more functionality around this.

This is a valid requirement and hope it is addressed soon. The PO process from creating PO and receiving the goods needs a fine tuning.
