We use the sales serialization process as we don't maintain serialized inventory but do capture a serial on outbound for warranty purposes. Currently, with the tracking dimension enabled for "Capture serial at pack", despite being in a container when collecting a serial number, it doesn't actually relate it to a container, only to the load. The idea would be to extend the InventTrackingRegisterTrans table (as we have made a modification for), to relate the container to the serial.
That way, the contents of a package (container) for serialized goods are represented to the customer on the packing slip. It would be a good idea to extend this as a parameter alongside the existing serial selection available for print options on the packing slip, e.g., "Add and group container serial numbers" or similar.
