Our facility relies heavily on the Load Planning Workbench to organize, schedule, and confirm outbound loads. This is a great tool, but from a functional perspective, after the user confirms the outbound shipment for an entire load, they are done. The posting of the packing slip is not something they are keyed into and we do not print the packing slip at the end of the process. We use the proforma packing slip and mark it up with any notes when counting/checking the freight. Thus posting the packing slip is really a formality that must be done to move the Sales Order to delivered status so it can be Invoiced.

We run the batch job available on the all sales orders form now for any Sales Order which has a shipment that is in "Loaded" status. This, however, does not allow for a packing slip to be cancelled or reversed. When trying to do the same from the Load Planning Workbench, generate packing slip function, it is not possible. Why is this not available for routine batch processing? This would solve our issue. It appears to be available, but it doesn't populate any lines when you do the late selection toggle to add a recurrence to the batch job.

The fact that there are 2 ways to post a packing slip that do not both allow the user to cancel/reverse the packing slip journal makes this request more important. If it were possible to cancel the packing slip on an order so that the shipment could be reversed from the load or shipment, then it would not be required to add batch processing to the packing slip in load planning workbench.

Being able to reverse packing slips is necessary, regardless of the way that is was created (from the sales order or the load). This is an important need of clients that use wms/containerization.
