We have tested this in standard environment application version 10.0.11 and also 10.0.14(Navigation path: Sales & Marketing>Sales orders>All sales orders and procurement and sourcing>purchase orders>All purchase orders) and have observed that
In 1st scenario:
1. Created a sales order for 20 quantity. Confirmed the order
2. Created purchase order from sales order.
3. Click on delivery schedule in purchase order line.Delivery Schedule is Disabled.

In 2nd scenario:
1.Created a new purchase order with quantity 5.
2. Confirmed the order. Received partial delivery of quantity 2.
3. Click on delivery schedule in purchase order line. Tried to create a delivery schedule for the remaining quantity.Delivery Schedule is Disabled.

Customer reported concern is that:
For created purchase orders from sale order, there should be an option to delivery schedule.
For partial received quantity of the purchase order. there should be an option for the remaining quantity to delivery schedule.

If marking is enabled, delivery schedule seems to be disabled, we have requirement too from customer to have the delivery schedule feature enabled in marking scenarios. Also in combination with project management, f.e. if you create automatically item requirements for project purchase orders (setup which can be enabled in project management setup), delivery schedule too becomes unavailable, also requirement for several of our customers.
