Add the "License plate grouping policy" field to the "Goods in transit item receiving" and "Goods in transit item receiving and put-away" work creation processes.
The License plate grouping is already present on many other inbound work creation processes such as purchase, load and transfer order receiving. Adding this option to the Goods in transit receiving menu item would ensure consistency across all inbound warehousing processes of a business and allow for the same automatic grouping of license plates based on the Unit sequence group ID configuration.
Without this option, the goods in transit receiving menu item doesn't automatically create license plates based on the handling stocking unit (for example, one license plate label for each pallet) but a unique one for the whole received quantity instead.
Comments
I find it surprising that this isn't supported. It's wild that it wasn't included when designing Goods in Transit functionality. This approach goes against advanced WMS functionality and requires the receiver to handle each pallet separately, instead of utilizing the more efficient WMS license plate grouping setup. Breaking by pallet unit of measure on the Work template doesn't work, as the Target license plate is based on that receipt only and assigns the same Target license plate ID for the next Work ID generated.
