Currently, we, as users of D365 Business Central (BC) are backed by Microsoft's "best effort" of 28-day backup retention.

There is no way to perform a true enterprise-grade backup of your BC environment.

What you CAN do is to go into the Admin center, and up to 10 times a month, manually configure a backup to send it to Azure blob storage.

I have spoken to many enterpise backup vendors and there is no solution from them because Microsoft has not released an API for them to be able to back up these databases.

Since I backed up on-prem databases multiple times a day automatically, and backed up on-prem systems daily automatically, you'd think moving to the SAAS platform would be an improvement, but it is not in this case.

The requests here are multiple options:

1) Include a way to schedule the bacpac exports from the admin center or from within BC without having to reconfigure them manually each time.

2) Allow these backups to be created more than 10x/month as that's not a reasonable amount. How about 1x/day?

3) Get the API available to the backup vendors so the data can be backed up like we back up everything else in our environments! Make it as easy as backing up M365 content.

if those things can't be done, then what are we supposed to do to protect our enterprises?
