business scenario: Retrieve existing sales order on the POS. Edit or Pick the order; the order is opened in the transaction screen.
suggestion: There's not much information about the sales order on the transaction screen. Only the customer account, really (and the order line products, off course). At least the sales order number should be visible. This would be used to visually check if the correct sales order is being paid or picked up.

I am from a Customer side based in Germany and support the idea. The sales order number display on the Transaction screen, Show Journal lines and Transaction History of the Customer would be helpful to track the payments as well.
