In BC16 Non-interactive printing in the cloud is introduced. And in this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365-release-plan/2020wave1/dynamics365-business-central/enable-non-interactive-printing-advanced-printer-selection states the following: "Additionally, for on-premises installations, any network printer that the server has access to will be available on the Printer Management page."
The network printers are indeed available and you can use them from printer selections. And if you specify a printer for a certain report and you print that report the network printer is shown as the selected printer. However when one presses print, the default print screen of the browser pops up and there the default printer on your computer is shown.
We raised a support incident for that, but according to support this was by design. So my idea is change the design and let it work as one would expect. If you have selected a printer in printer selection it should print to that printer without user interactions. As it is possible in the background (by scheduling for example) my guess is that it is also possible to do that from the webclient.
Kind regards,
