Currently, whenever a Cycle Counting Work line is rejected (via the Cycle counting review process), nothing really happens. Not only does nothing really happen, but the Location actually shows that it was successfully counted (on the Locations form). Instead, a rejected Cycle Counting Work should either reopen the Cycle Counting Work to be recounted, give the option to create a new Cycle Counting Work to recount the Location, or at least not count the Location as successfully counted.

Really sad that a huge ERP as MD365 doesn’t have this feature.it is a really basic fracture that you can find in any small software for inventory.Hope they will change add this soon.

We really need this functionnality ! It is not possible that the reject count does not have any consequences !

I was stunned to see how poorly this was designed. This is a must have.

Implementing a process for handling rejected Cycle Counting Work is crucial for maintaining inventory accuracy. Currently, rejected counts are misleadingly marked as successful, which can cause significant discrepancies. A solution should include reopening the Cycle Counting Work or creating new Work to ensure proper recounts. Additionally, introducing a new column that tracks the last count for the item in the location would provide critical data to help decide whether to reject or accept the count, further enhancing decision-making and inventory reliability.

At a client we have made that a modification back in AX2012R3.
I would agree to provide the user with an option to create a new cycle count work. What I have done in the past was to also allow to set the cycle count pool id. In that way you can re direct the new count to a new team.

The cycle count tool is good, but it does need some updates to make it great! I agree 100% that reject work should optionally generate a recount, or like you mention, not mark the location as having been counted!

I agree. My suggestion is that there should be an option to create a new counting work as a copy of the rejected work when the counting is rejected.
