A welcome addition was the ability to specify allowed dimensions against master data as part of the default dimension of a record.

However, currently, non-allowed dimensions values are still possible to select, and the end-user gets an error in error preview or posting.

It would be a much nicer user experience that the dimension value drop-down was filtered to only show allowed values.

User story

I set up G/L account 1234 to have a mandatory DEPARTMENT dimension, and I restrict the allowed values to SALES and MARKETING.

I then add G/L 1234 on a journal line or a sales or purchase document. I then go to assign a DEPARMENT dimension to the line, either via a shortcut dimension or the dimension menu.

When I click the drop-down to select a value, only SALES and MARKETING are available to select.
