Remove just relationship from sub-grid between parent and child records

As per our customer requirement:
 
In an 1:N relationship between two entities, e.g. Account and contact, go to account form and go to contacts navigation; I see list of contacts related to that particular account.
 
User should have option to select the records from the grid and remove these contact records from this Grid; i.e remove just the parent-child relationship and contact records should stay in the system as orphan records without parent.
 
User should see “Remove” button similar to “Delete” which would just remove the relationship and not delete the records like delete button does.
