In Dynamics 365 Customer Insights – Journeys (Real‑time marketing), segments currently include all contacts from an Account that meet the defined criteria (e.g. market segment). There is no native way to randomly sample contacts or limit the number of contacts per parent entity (such as an Account).
Accounts often have a large number of related contacts, which can cause a single Account to dominate a campaign and increase the risk of over‑communication. (Combined with the limited options to further filter or select contacts within segment memberships which is raised multiple times in Microsoft Ideas), validating and reviewing the target group segmentation becomes very time‑consuming.
Adding native random sampling and per‑parent limits would significantly improve Bsegmentation, reduce the need for technical workarounds, and make Real‑time marketing more practical and scalable.
