It does not seem to be possible to add a picture of the company logo or similar to the e-mail signature. I guess that would be something that 95% of the users would expect?

I managed to get the image works, as long as the image is hosted on external site and the style of the signature is HTML-based.

Just to add a comment. I really hope you plan to finish this feature so it can actually be used in real life? It has been anticipated with great expectations from the partners and customers. So to see it in the final release with no real rich text editing was a bit disappointing.
We are seeing way to many examples of "now we can also check this feature off" behaviour from the product team. It is not enough that you can check it off in a feature by feature comparison with salesforce. It also has to be finished.
