I am a controller with an education in computer science and accounting. This suggestion is based on my education.

Applications are viewed in simple terms. What are they for? Dynamics 365 Business Central does not have a clear purpose. This makes the software very difficult to use, navigate and apply.

Business functions begin and end with accounting. This is a basic tenet since all businesses pay taxes. The foundation of any accounting function are Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables. These transactions are maintained in one database, which in turn is read and viewed via a General Ledger. The system main field is the Account Number, which is found in the Chart of Accounts.

It would be prudent of Microsoft Dynamics to conduct a survey of all users. Questions like "What is the system used for?" or "What defines Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Center?" or "What accounting functions are mostly utilized in Dynamics 365?" can be asked. Other survey questions doubtless apply.

The survey results will surprise the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central developers.
