When an additional currency is in use and journal entries are to be posted in that currency using the general journal, the posting preview does not show subtotals for the additional-currency amount when using the hierarchical view. All amounts are displayed as zero, even when that's not correct. When expanding accounts to view posting lines, the additional-currency amounts are still displayed. It's simply the subtotals that are not working.
