We would like to make specific types of activities, such as fax or letter, not available. Right now in security roles you change the settings only for all Activities. If we take away read or create privileges the user cannot read or create any type of activity.

If these were broken out individually, it would help us to manage our Activities properly. We don't want options available that we do not want our users to use. It would less confusing and cleaner.

Most companies don't need to keep track of most of the activities, such as Faxes and Letters. Additionally, in many of my implementations as a D365 partner, the business has needed multiple types of custom activities, but not all users should see all activities. There are quite a few UX issues in D365, including this issue. Please, instead of focusing entirely on new functionality, tighten up the user experience for what is already in D365.

Please, please re-consider this. Especially as the system gets more and more modular, having blanket security for all types (especially since that keeps us from being able to hide an unused activity type) is extremely difficult. We've had to do a large amount of workarounds to even begin to approach this - just to keep users from seeing/entering things that we don't intend to use.

Hi Amy, Thank you for your feedback. Currently this is not in our immediate roadmap, however, we are tracking it and if we indeed get more feedback and votes, we may consider it in future Regards, Karan
