We have a customer that is using CRM2011 and has Rollup 4 deployed in a test environment. The client is testing the rollup prior to deployment to Production. When a user creates a recurring appointment the Outlook synchronisation fails on the recurring appointments. We are also able to get the error in our development environment.

The error given is
Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040203): Resource not found(-2146233033)
...
Error:An unknown error occurred while synchronizing data to Outlook.

In our dev environment we have tried repairing the .net framework on the client, repairing the outlook client all to no avail.
