When the user clicks on the global search icon in the nagivation menu the behavior has been changed with the newest release of CRM 2016. A Little seach box pops up underneath the button. But why the h... does the user have to click on the search field before he can start typing his search string?

The whole idea with this feature is to make searching fast and easy. Why can't you just set focus on the search box and let the user start typing immidiately? Why annoy the users with all these extra clicks?
