Symptom:

When changing the buying legal entity on a purchase requisition line, the item sales tax group does not update accordingly. The system removes the category and other information but does not clear the tax fields, causing the new category to not fetch the correct tax groups from the new legal entity.

Cause:

The issue occurs because when the purchase requisition line is initially created with a buying legal entity and category, the item sales tax group is fetched correctly. However, upon changing the buying legal entity, the system removes the category and related information but fails to clear the tax fields. Consequently, when a new category is added, the system does not fetch the updated tax groups from the new legal entity's category, leading to incorrect tax group data.

can you please help resolve this matter as the end user isn't usually aware of the item sales tax group, so it causes lots of confusion.
