In the current implementation for GS1 scan in picking menu items, once the scan is completed, there is no way to see which batch has been scanned, or even the expiry date of the scanned batch to confirm whether the correct item was scanned or not. This is particularly bad when there are mixed batches in a location and the user points the gun at a particular batch, but the device scans another batch item on the way. The device does not give the user a chance to confirm if it's the correct batch or not - even when the batch confirmation is enabled (That feature seems to be towards batch above implementations, ours is batch below due to the nature of goods and operations). They either have to go to the back office and check the work line, or just send whichever batch they think they scanned - completed under an assumption.

This defeats the purpose of having such a system in place and the accuracy of the items being sent are very bad. It's bad when the supervisor finds these issues after the pick, but even worse if the receiving side identifies it. Since we cannot cancel transfer order shipments that are done through warehouse management, there's not even a way to correct the mistake. They have to either receive the full quantity and ship it back in another transfer order manually, or do a scrap - which is not ideal for otherwise perfectly good stock.

Solution would be to implement the same batch confirmation screen which should show each of the batches picked in the line, along with their expiry dates, quantities and units. This will give the user a chance to correct items they're picking, in case they did a mistake. The fact that piece picking is not supported with GS1 should also be taken into consideration, since that could also solve this issue for some situations, though this won't be practical for us.
